Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS does not boot after update on 26th sept 16,

Bug Description

Updated with update manager on normal sources on the 26th of september on my Lenovo X1 Yoga with OLED screen. System fails to boot on updated version. On the older version (selected in grub) it still functions.

ThinkPad-X1-Yoga:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.

Was this a system that shipped pre-installed with Ubuntu or was it installed later?

This system came without any operating system preinstalled. And to be precise, it still boots to command line.

After update on the 11.okt.2016 the system boots fine again!
