Bug Description

If you search for a package on apps.ubuntu.com, you will not get results pertaining to Ubuntu 16.04. For example, I can't find "gnome-calendar":

https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/search/?q=gnome-calendar&op=

The search results display different distributions on the side-bar, including old releases like Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 13.10, Ubuntu 13.04, etc, but not the newer current LTS release Ubuntu 16.04, or the new release Ubuntu 16.10:

apps.ubuntu.com needs to be updated to include packages for Ubuntu 16.04. and for Ubuntu 16.10.

It looks like old links to apps.ubuntu.com are now completely broken, breaking a multitude of links across the web in blog posts, forum posts and Q&A sites mostly contributed by volunteers. They just redirect to https://snapcraft.io/store . As far as I can tell, there was no announcement at all.

For example, try clicking this link:

https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/pdfshuffler

At the very least, it should redirect to something like:

http://apt.ubuntu.com/p/pdfshuffler

Thanks David. I agree that redirecting to the equivalent apt.ubuntu.com URL would be much more useful than to snapcraft.io. I’ve passed this on to the team dealing with snapcraft.io.
