The environment name is not correctly displayed on Instances tab because is taking a Random ID instead of environment name.

ex.
Murano-RANDOM_ENVIRONMENT_NAME-HOSTNAME-RANDOMID

summary: - Murano environment name is not displayed on Instances

Do I understand correctly, that the name for instance is generated correctly by murano, but displayed in a wrong way? I thought https://review.openstack.org/#/c/346253/ has already done the trick

Hi Valerii

this patch just set the Hostname but leave the environment name with a random id.

i recently got the latest murano from the master and i see now when you deploy a image just keep the Hostname i guess this is made by the Region support change.

i guess can be more easy if we add murano-regionName-EnvironmentName-hostName instead just the hostname

this is just for identify the instances on Openstack not for change the hostname on the VM itself.

Going through all your messages I'm a bit confused about:
1) what are we looking at - environment name or instance name?
2) where do we look at it? what is Instances tab?
3) why it is wrong?

Hi Valerii

look how is working on my environment.

is Murano-EnvironmentName-HostName-RandomID

this is before of support for region update after this update now the instances are showing just with the hostname

when you have a lot of users creating Instances can be confuse if someone for example create Webserver and another one create another instance with name webserver

my Proposed change is
the instances name (just on the dashboard and not the hostname on the vm) should be
Murano-Environmentname-ComputerHostname-RegionName

this is just a cosmetical change for a easy administration on the dashboard.
