Bug Description

This is an aftermarket touchpad for a thinkpad T440s. The problem is when I touch it with my finger and then remove my finger without moving (so press->release), the touchpad registers a movement, usually downward. This is probably due to my finger tip changing from pressed to round as I remove it, and the bottom part of it loses contact with the touchpad last. I don't have this sort of problem with synaptics because this minor movement doesn't affect the cursor. With libinput, it is too sensitive on slow movements.

Similarly, moving the cursor works fine but after I stop and remove by finger the cursor usually ends up off target.

I'm not sure if this is a duplicate. The issue I've described has to do with sensitivity to slow/short movements, not jitters or jerky movement. I've went ahead and opened a bug report on libinput: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97819
