Bug Description
It happens with 0.48.5 and 0.91. I tried Windows 7 and 8.
The number of steps to reproduce the bug changes sometimes, but most of the times it goes like this:
Open Inkscape
Create a circle
Create some squares
combine the squares
open path effects window
add Pattern along path to the circle
copy combined squares and paste them into the pattern
and now - change the repetition option to repeat and stretch
That's it!
Sometimes it works but when I try to paste another pattern into the circle, or change anything else withing the patterns options, it crashes the same.
when I open Task Manager Inkscape's memory constantly builds up.

Crash reproduced on Windows 7 with Inkscape 0.91 (32 and 64-bit versions) and lp:inkscape/0.92.x rev. 15080 (32-bit devlibs).
Test file attached (just open and change the LPE option).
