Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdeprint

I'm on Kubuntu Gutsy and I have KDE & Gnome installed.

When I'm in KDE and try to print with a KDE application, the gnome-print-manager is launched (with an icon in the system tray) as well as the kde-print-manager (also with an icon in the system tray). Obviously, only the KDE one should be launched. Please note however that If I kill the gnome-print-manager, it wont launch again if I try to print with a KDE app.

In /etc/xdg/autostart/redhat-print-applet.desktop probably the following line should be added:
   OnlyShowIn=GNOME;XFCE;
(just as in nm-applet.desktop).

Adding the suggested line (OnlyShowIn=GNOME;XFCE;) in etc/xdg/autostart/redhat-print-applet.desktop seems to work, i.e. gnome-print-manager is no longer launching when trying to print in KDE. I'll continue to test it and will report if there's anything else happening. Thanks.

NotShowIn=KDE;
Is the more appropriate solution.
