Cut and paste does not refresh SFTP view

Bug Description

When connected via SSH or Samba, the cut and paste function moves other folders around.
For example if I move folder A to folder B, suddenly folder C may be moved to folder X.
Could it be that the copy and paste function gets incorrect folder-ID's?
It's very strange.
Have noticed this both on Freya 0.3.2 and Loki beta 2

I have not been able to determine when or why it happens.

Hello Artemis

Thankyou for your report. Please could you specify whether you are moving the files using the keyboard (Ctrl-X, Ctrl-V) or with drag and drop? Are you moving them within the same (remote) filesystem? Is "folder C" related in anyway to "folder A" or "folder B"? e.g. is there a link to folder C within folder A?. Are all the folders on the same filesystem? When you say "suddenly" do you mean "at the same time"?

If folder C is not selected then it hard to see why this might happen so any further information you have that might allow reproduction of this bug would be helpful.

It seems to be OK in the new Loki system.
I have not been able to replicate the error from before. But then I used Freya 0.3.2 and Loki Beta 2.

However if you move a folder from one window to another ( window A to Window B). The source Window ( A ) is not updating the view so the folder that is moved is still there. IT shows up correctly in Window B

Happens both with CTRL-X -> CTRL-V and drag n drop ( using right click with mouse and choosing move )

Hello Artemis

I haven't been able to reproduce this with the current trunk for Files (r2309) - the source window updated OK when moving between folders on the same samba share and also on an ssh connection.

Jeremy, maybe you can provide a branch which logs some useful debug information?

Running pantheon-files --debug does provide more debug info (although whether it is useful for this bug is unknown)

This is not related to bug 1623283 is it?

Hello Jeremy,

I have checked further now. If you cut and paste a Folder from Local computer to SFTP connection or from the SFTP connection to local the folder does not disappear from "Source window".
A regular file works normal but when it's a folder it does not disappear.

It's not related to the bug you listed.

Best regards,

OK, I have confirmed that moving files does not work between an sftp share and the local file system. I seem to remember this was deliberate although I not sure why. I'll see if this restriction can be lifted.

However, could you confirm whether or not the bug as originally described above is still an issue in Loki 0.4 (stable)? I have not been able to reproduce it.

So, the bug now is cutting a file from an sftp share in one window and pasting into a local folder does not remove the folder from the sftp view (until refreshed).
