k3b almost-locks X after data-DVD burn

Bug Description

Binary package hint: k3b

This is not consistent behaviour, but often after k3b changes the status of a burn of a data DVD to "success", X (KDE) slows to an almost standstill. If I move the mouse, the cursor will move about 10-15 seconds later, and then only extremely laggishly. I can eject the DVD by holding down the eject button on the drive for 30 seconds (perhaps it just takes that long to respond given the lag).

This is only on gutsy (i.e. the same drive, and k3b, worked fine on feisty) so it's probably a kernel/driver issue, but I only see the behaviour when using k3b, so that's why I'm reporting it against the app. Let me know what debugging information you need.

I have the similar issue. I have pinpointed it to the burn verification phase.

As long as the write verification is not selected, the burn goes flawlessly. But after I enabled verification, both CD and DVD writing hangs during verification attempt. The disk is written correctly, it is k3b process that eats all the CPU.

Some time ago all worked OK on Gutsy, this is an issue of a last week or two.

Important! This happens on k3b 1.0.4 from gutsy-backports. Regular 1.0.3 from main repository works flawlessly.
