Bug Description
Hi,
I know that 12.04 is only "supported" via the ppa.
But according to our IRC discussion I still file the bug so that we can focus and document the decisions here.
Background - when uvt creates images it uses the python libvirt bindings.
It seems that these now create images with lazyy-refcount flag.
Those cannot be read by the qemu in precise.
The error will look like this:
uvt-kvm: error: libvirt: internal error Process exited while reading console log output: char device redirected to /dev/pts/0
kvm: -drive file=/var/
A good explanation on the details is at http://
According to our IRC discussion detecting the local qemu version and - in case it is too old - adding a safety option to not enable lazy-refcounts - would be a solution.
We have to balance that effort vs. the remaining time precise will be supported in the face of uvtool being only a ppa there.
