Additional page sizes

Please offer the following page sizes to Document Properties:
- HD Ready 16:9, 1280 × 720 px
- Full HD 16:9, 1920 × 1080 px
- 4K-UHD 256:135, 4096 × 2160 px
- 5K-UHD ?:?, ? × 2880 px
- 6K-UHD ?:?, ? × 3456 px
- 8K-UHD 16:9, 7680 × 4320 px

Use also the × (times) instead of x (letter x) in the table Page Size.

Just for you information, some of the new sizes you're asking for are available in the File > New from template dialog (Video section) in the current 0.92.x branch and the trunk, and should be released in the next 0.92 version.

I feel having a long list of page sizes in the Document properties dialog is already a bit cumbersome, and adding new items probably won't help. Now that we have a Templates dialog to create new documents, we should either reduce the list in the Document properties, or organize it differently.

The long list could be grouped and collapsible and expandable. Above that tree a list of the seven most often used formats are listed. All this should be persistent and up to date for all instances of Inkscape. Additionally a quick filter will show (without a tree) only the matches for the searched string. Minimum of two characters should be entered to activated the quick filter. Would all this solve the problems?

I'm not an UI expert and don't know how to implement it, but it sounds like a good idea.

I think grouping the templates by usecase would be an amazing idea.

Without changing too much the UI I've made a small wireframe and it could be something like this.
it would be nice to be able to say (as in the extensions) to which group the template belongs.

Looking at the 0.92 release grouping templates seems to be addressed!
Same with those template sizes (Under the video template), great job!

I have noticed that GIMP also has a set of templates. Since default palettes, fill patterns, gradients etc can be shared with GIMP, why not also synchronize the templates between Inkscape and GIMP? See https://i.imgur.com/3aAUNiu.png what GIMP is offering. Should we create a related issue for this at GIMP?
