Bug Description
I installed ndiswrapper on my girlfriends laptop in Fiesty (Acer Aspire 1762LMi) and it worked fine once I blacklisted bcm... Upgraded the machine to Gutsy today and ndiswrapper appeared not to work.
ndiswrapper -l tells me the driver is installed and working
iwlist scanning tells me that there are no results.
I then built ndiswrapper from source and tried again. Same problem.
Then after getting fed up clicked "Connec to Other Network" from the network manager applet, asked it to connect to "fnjkdshfksjhfdk" after which, it listed the local networks correctly. I get the same thing on reboots too, no networks, ask it to connect to a something random, then it lists properly.
The network card is an Inprocomm IPN2220 pci card.
On, my laptop with gutsy, I can't get the card working... The led light is always off...
I then install the kernel from feisty, and load ubuntu with it, then I do "modprob ndiswrapper" and the light enables, and the card is working. Then if I reboot to the kernel from gutsy, and "modprobe ndiswrapper" the card works......
If I shutdown the computer, and remove the laptop battery and disconnect the pc from power, and reboot I need to go again to the older kernel and enable the card, so I can use it in the new kernel...
I guess it's a kernel bug...
Any thoughts?
