Bug Description
Try to install nvidia-glx-new. Error message as below:
nvidia-glx-new: Depends: xserver-xorg-core (>= 1:0.99.0-1) but it is not going to be installed
$ apt-cache madison xserver-xorg-core
xserver-xorg-core | 2:1.4-3ubuntu1 | http://
xorg-server | 2:1.4.1~
$ apt-cache madison nvidia-glx-new
nvidia-glx-new | 100.14.
linux-restricte
$ apt-cache madison linux-restricte
linux-restricte
This is somewhat confusing as it would appear that 2:1.4-3ubuntu1 is indeed greater than 1:0.99.0-1.
Changed in linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22: | |
status: | New → Confirmed |
The new xserver-xorg-core package conflicts with any package providing xserver-xorg-video, xserver- xorg-video- 1.0 or xserver- xorg-video- 1.9.
The current nvidia-glx-new provides xserver-xorg-video, therefore it can't be installed.
