Ubuntu 7.10 i386 desktop
I added several users, and only noticed this when I came to change the ownership of files in the relevant home folders.
Some user's groups were not created, instead they were assigned to the root group.
Also the user and group numbers are out of sync, ie user 1007 gets group 1005, this correlates to the amount of groups that were not created.
I did add one user as an administrator, maybe that had some bearing on it?
