Although 'logo' can be customized/overridden on "$BYOBU_CONFIG_DIR/statusrc", it does not work when using the external file on the "$BYOBU_CONFIG_DIR/logo" path.

Good catch! That's a bug in the manpage, now fixed to say:

+\fBlogo\fP \- an approximation of the current operating system's logo; displayed in the lower bar on the far left; you may customize this logo by setting a chosen logo with LOGO=:-D in \fI$BYOBU_CONFIG_DIR/statusrc\fP

Changed in byobu:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed
status: Confirmed → Fix Committed
