I can confirm this-

  - `snap find nmap' works
  - `gnome-software --search nmap' shows no results

With gnome-software 3.20.1+git20160617.1.0440874.ubuntu-xenial-0ubuntu2 and snapd 2.13+16.10.

After `pkill -f gnome-software; gnome-software --verbose --search nmap', I see the following

(gnome-software:2937): Gs-WARNING **: failed to call gs_plugin_refine on snappy: snapd returned status code 404: Not Found

(gnome-software:2937): Gs-DEBUG: app invalid as no pixbuf nmap

And a final note to say that the search works on my real installed laptop.

Same problem on Ubuntu 16.04 updated today.

 - `snap find telegram' works
 - `gnome-software --search telegram' shows no results

It's the same for all the snap packages.

Tested again today, the problem seems solved with Ubuntu 16.04.
Ubuntu Software (aka gnome-software) finds again snap packages.
