Bug Description

I used Ubuntu 16.10's VirtualBox to attempt to install Ubuntu 16.10 today. VirtualBox suggested an 8 GB virtual hard drive.

When I attempted to install, I got this unhelpful error message:
"You need at least 8.6 GB disk space to install Ubuntu.
This computer has only 8.6 GB."

Screenshot attached.

I'm filing this bug against VirtualBox to suggest that the default disk size for Ubuntu be increased.

Bug 1614812 is the ubiquity bug I filed about the unhelpful error message.

I am here with the same problem. The recommended system requirement is 2GB of system memory and when i tried to install, there was the error saying " You need atleast 8.6gb space to install ubuntu"

what can I do to install ubuntu? I have 8gb system storage in my computer.

Thank you in advance

@vinay.negalur, I don't know, you seem to have failed in creating a virtual disk
