Bug Description

When installing yakkety and xenial the installer fails when attempting to install grub. These are both on ssd drives. 14.04 seems to be happy with the same ssd on which yakkety failed.

Your logs don't indicate that grub failed to install, or even that an install was attempted. It looks like you just logged out. You mention that you have tried both xenial and yakkety; when reusing a USB stick for a different distribution or release, you need to format it first. Did you do this?
