- telepathy-ofono-ril-mc-plugin has its architectures spelled out. Is it just that there are missing deps or it won't build on other arches? That's fine. Let them be busted (c.f. unity8 which has never built on powerpc, but still tries). It makes it easier when we enable a new architecture if we don't have to go through a hundred packages and manually add an arch to them.

- Relatedly, why build-dep on libpulse-dev only on arm platforms?

- There are quite a few crashers in LP bugs. Do we have a handle on those?

- Please subscribe a team to bugs in LP.

Otherwise seems fine.

- I believe telepathy-ofono-ril-mc-plugin is disabled on most archs because it depends on libhybris-utils, and that is not available on all architectures.

- telepathy-ofono uses libpulse to change the system audio routes when there is an incoming call and other call events. That affects the entire system, so by the time we created the package (3 years ago) that was the only way to make sure it wasn't going to break audio of desktops. This audio management should be done outside of telepathy-ofono. We had a discussion some time ago and decided to create a pulse module to take care of that, but it is still not done.

- Those crashes are mostly related to pulse audio. I believe some of them are actually fixed by now.

Using architectures as a proxy for products (Desktop vs Touch) is not great. As we move to a convergent achitecture, we want Touch to work on all architectures.

Is there a bug or roadmap for fixing the pulseaudio situation?

There could even be a short term hack, before your create a new module. Where you only do routing if $XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP == ubuntu-touch or something.

Yes, maybe use XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP could be a good solution, but we decided to remove the dependency of telepathy-ofono from telephony-service, so I believe once we land that change this MIR won't be needed anymore.

correct, this will not need to go into main after we remove the depends from telephony-service, which is in progress
