many pluma plugins not working

Bug Description

when trying to turn on some plugins the box just goes grey and doesn't work, no message either.

failing: snippets, python console, quick open, external tools

What version of raspbian was this encountered on?
Has anyone tested on the corresponding version of Debian?

running in console, i get below; which seems to me to be the same thing as mint bug above from a year ago.
