Bug Description
Binary package hint: cupsys
After upgrade from Feisty users cannot access a printer. Removing
AllowUser @users
from printers.conf helps. AllowUser works fine for users and groups defined in /etc/passwd and /etc/group but breaks if users or groups are defined in LDAP. This is a new bug in Gutsy. Below there are configuration files from my system:
printers.conf:
<Printer Color-LaserJet-
Info Color-LaserJet-2550
DeviceURI socket://10.0.10.1
State Idle
StateTime 1192094535
Accepting Yes
Shared Yes
JobSheets none none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0
AllowUser @users
OpPolicy default
ErrorPolicy retry-job
</Printer>
/etc/nsswitch.conf:
passwd: ldap compat
group: ldap compat
shadow: ldap compat
.....

Pawel Daniluk thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The version of Ubuntu is in End of Life status. For more on this please see https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/Releases The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Maverick Meerkat. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http:// www.ubuntu. com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
