Bug Description

Searched for printers on Dash, opened it and added printer, chose network printer, my printer was displayed so clicked it. Driver download box opened and I started it. After authentication, the box froze, progress indicator stopped moving, box would not respond to CANCEL or X(for quit).
Tried it three times, no difference.

Bug reporting software reverts to start if there is text in the package selection box, even though "I don't know" is checked. This is a nuisance, not a big problem.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1611474/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Identical process and identical failure when trying to connect the Epsom printer in Mint. Means it is in the driver. What is needed is some defensive programming in the installer which will prevent freezes in bad situations, and inform the user about what happened so that some fix can be requested from the driver provider.
