Cube-Server Crash on Windows OS.

Like I earlier mentioned the crashing of cube-server application in Windows OS here :- https://bugs.launchpad.net/cube-server/+bug/1535556

I would like to bring in some new information that has come to light while the use and crash of this software.

Most of the times, I observed at-least 3 and more, that the module that Windows reported faulted was :- "libglib-2.0-0.dll".

Here is the error-report by Windows.

Problem signature:

  Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
  Application Name: cube-server.exe
  Application Version: 0.1.119.0
  Application Timestamp: 55e2c532
  Fault Module Name: e
  Fault Module Version: 2.28.8.0
  Fault Module Timestamp: 4e253544
  Exception Code: 40000015
  Exception Offset: 0004c2d8

Everytime, this module reported failure, causing the console to be crashed and the downloading of the packages to be stopped.

I am attaching a screenshot also of the error.
Hope this information helps in narrowing down to error.

Also wanted to confirm that, does any contents of the zip file (of cube-server setup for Windows) like "cube-server.exe" or "gspawn-win32-helper-console.exe" needed some administrative privileges ie. run as administrator or some compatibility issues?

Hello and thank you for reporting bug.
Thanks for making it very detailed, especially the screenshot you have provided, this will really help a lot in our investigation :D

We replicated the bug in our environment, and we think we know now the main reason why cube crashes every time you download packages or repositories on Windows.

Fortunately, we now have a Windows machine to be used for testing. Hopefully, we fix the bug as soon as possible. We will inform you, and update your bug reports when we released a new version of Cube with bug fix.

Hello, thanks for the development of cube-beta version so soon.
I wanted to confirm some things.
Did you tested this in Windows-machine?
Which OS was the machine running on?
Were you running the software as administrator?
Didit showed any error like app-crash?

I tested on my Windows os.
It still showed some problems while downloading softwares for 14.04 and 16.04. Both LTS.
I had some screenshot prepared.
Will post them shortly.

- Yes, we are using Windows machine

Which OS was the machine running on?
- Windows 7

Were you running the software as administrator?
- No, it is running as normal user

Didit showed any error like app-crash?
- No, we didn't encountered app-crash. Though, it crashes when we run Windows version of Cube in Linux via Wine.

A screenshot will help a lot in our investigation.

Hey there,
i read this - and another post about this problem which i am encountering atm.

Its my first time working with The Camicri Cube Server and also im pretty new to Linux.
Eventhough i was working with Computer and Network for a while so i am capable of solving most of my problems myself.

Trying not to digress:
i successfully created a project
i downloaded the Windows

...

tryed the recompild version this second, all my problems solved.
i was using ubuntu 14.0.4
maybe you should remove the buggy file so people don't run into this bug over and over again
