when upgrading from 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS this error came up during the upgrade

Could you complete the upgrade? Did the system remained functional on next reboot?

ThE system was functional after reboot. Ran sudo dpkg-reconfigure gconf2 once the system rebooted and it seemed to finish the install.
