icons will display above the bar

How to reproduce:
1. Add avant-window-navigator as additional startup program in gnome session. To let gnome starts up awn when user login gnome session.
2. Logout gnome session
3. Login gnome session.

You will find the icons are displayed below the bar.

Sometimes, you need reboot system and login gnome session to reproduce this problem.

For the moment there is no fix for this and probably there will not come one.

This is happening to me now under Ubuntu 8.04 but did not occur when I was using Ubuntu 7.10. What exactly is the issue, does anyone know? This problem is considerably annoying, making my AWN bar almost unusable.

I get the exact same result using the option "keep below maximized windows", no login no reboot, just activating the option. I too also did not see this in ubuntu 7.10 but am now seeing it in 8.04, but I just assume it's not related to ubuntu but actually from awn itself?

I need to know which versions of Awn these are, and additionally, the window managers in use.

I can confirm this bug with Fedora 9, installed from their official repository (0.2.6) with Compiz as the window manager.

Also, can you tell me if the following options (in General -> Bar behaviour) are checked:
 * auto hide bar when not in use
 * keep below maximized windows when not in use
 * maximized windows don't cover the bar

OK, it seems that I jumped to conclusions when I confirmed this bug - I saw the icons that were above the bar and automatically assumed that it was the same bug that I found the other day. However, my questions still stand.

Probably auto-hide related, anyway this should be fixed in 0.4 rewrite.
