Bug Description

Dear all,

Sometimes it happens that headphones remain the main output device in the sound system settings (see attached screenshot) after having unplugged them from the audio jack port.

The system does not recognise that the headphones are no longer present and thus does not switch back automatically to play sound through my Thinkpad X230 laptop speakers.

Can I provide you with any more relevant information to fix this potential bug?

Thankfully,

~Robert

To add to the above information.

Now, my laptop's speakers are no longer recognised at all as an output device.

Each time I unplug my external speaker or headphones, the output device remains "Headphones" in the sound menu. I will attach a screenshot from alsamixer.

Is it possible that my hardware might be broken?
