Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I am trying to make a databank of my DVD's and it startet well but as I changed the row entry to JJJJ (YYYY) just year without a particular date when I go to the next row, it jumps to 1900 and does not leave the date I inserted! 2005 or 2006 etc....
Only when I enter a full date (who remembers, which day a movie came out??) then it inserts it correctly.

Inserting just the year into a cell with date format ex. 2005 and it changing to 6/27/1905 keeps compatibility with how Excel handles the same scenario. One would want to change the cell format to text or number so the date does not change. Marking this to Wishlist. What benefit would be provided changing the way date formatted cells handle information?

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
