Upgrading vagrant to 1.8.4 in xenial

The current vagrant Version in xenial (1.8.1) is affected from this bug.

https://github.com/mitchellh/vagrant/issues/6793

so the ansible_locale provisioner can't be used.

I would like to renew the package in xenial but i don't know how to do this.

Maybe somebody could give me some adivce to renew the package in xenial or link some documentation.

In debian sid the package exists in version 1.8.4 with a bugfix of the problem.

I am trying to backport the latest vagrant to Xenial:

If you could help with testing the backport as indicated on that bug, it would be a great help.

First you will need to test some vagrant dependencies that have to be backported as well:
