Danish Desktop folder is wrong

Bug Description

When installing a fresh Ubuntu Gutsy using Danish locale a ~/Desktop folder is created and owned by root:root

A localized folder ~/Skrivebord is also created (Skrivebord is danish for Desktop)

~/Desktop should be a link to Skrivebord and not a separate directory which I as the user do not have write access to.

When installing programs, the expected icons does not show up. Firefox downloads dot not show up on the desktop etc.

Thanks for your comments. This does not appear to be a bug report as such. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise your question in the support tracker. http://launchpad.net/support. gnome-desktop is not creating any directory and a program running as user can't create a directory with those permissions anyway

Changed in gnome-desktop:
status: New → Invalid

Well, perhaps I placed the bugreport in a wrong package, but danish newcomers to Ubuntu will be baffled. A configuration where many installers will not function properly is a bugged configuration.

What package would be the correct to file a bug in, e.g. which package takes care of setting up /home/$USER

Regards
Per

there is no package running as root doing changes there, you should use the support tracker for questions about what you might have installed creating that issue
