NVidia TwinView displays incorrectly on screen 1 (slides) when screen 2 is enabled

I have upgraded from Feisty to Gutsy. In Feisty I could enable the second screen with separate X server. On gutsy the following happens:
a) I can configure the displays with nvidia-settings. Here, if I activate "Separate X server", after restarting X nothing happens (nothing "new", meaning I still have only one screen visible)
b) I can configure the displays with System -> Administration -> Screens and Graphics. If I activate the second display here and restart X, the second screen lights up, everything seems correct, BUT the first screen seems to have a windowing feature, meaning that it has a resolution greater than the display (about 1.5 times wider and higher) and in the display it only shows a portion equal to the resolution displayed. If I move the mouse to the edges of the screen, it slides around. On the second screen this doesn't happen. If I disable the second screen in the above mentioned window, the first screen fixes itself without changing anything about it.

Hardware Information:
Graphics adapter: Nvidia GeForce 7600GT (Gainward Bliss SFX) on PCI-Express x16
Primary Display: Samsung SyncMaster 757DFX, running at 1280x1024 @ 85Hz, connected through DVI to VGA adapter
Secondary Display: Acer AcerView 76e 1280x960 @ 75Hz, connected through DVI to VGA adapter
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLi (don't think it's important might not be important)

If necessary, I will try and take a screenshot of it happening, as well as the xorg.conf file when this problem occurs (right now I am only running single displaY)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. I am sorry, but this has happened a long time ago and I no longer have the same setup now. However, I can report that newer versions (especially Jaunty, which I'm using right now) do not have this problem any more, and I'm able to succesfully run TwinView with different resolutions.
This was true before changing my setup (as you can see, I've previously owned two analog monitors) and more so now, when I'm using a digital monitor (that is, connected through DVI cable) and a FullHD LCD TV (connected through DVI to HDMI cable).

However, it should be noted that all changes to display resolution and/or position are made via the nvidia-settings application.
