Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-bluetooth

I propose:

1. Promote gnome-bluetooth from universe to main.
2. Install it by default in any desktop installations, or maybe install it only if the installer detects Bluetooth hardware.
3. If the user installs a Bluetooth hardware (for example, the user plugs an USB Bluetooth adapter), the system must installs the gnome-bluetooth package automatically, if it's not already installed.
4. When the user activates the Bluetooth adapter, the gnome-obex-server application must be started automatically, in order to let the user to receive files via Bluetooth.

Thanks many for your suggestions. I know the Ubuntu 7.10 install the gnome-bluetooth by default. I know also you can be use the gnome-bluetooth directly from livecd. The last suggestion is interesting. I think this idea must be sent to the bluetooth develop team.

Thanks many

Massimo, are you sure that gnome-bluetooth is installed by default in Gutsy? I have got it because I upgraded from Feisty, but I recently did a fresh Ubuntu 7.10 install in a virtual machine, and gnome-bluetooth was not installed...

gnome-bluetooth is NOT in the livecd and is NOT installed by default. You must to install it by hand. So, gnome-obex-server is NOT in the livecd and is NOT in the installed system by default.
