Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

i using a dell dimension 4100, with 384mb of ram, and a quest high speed internet connection. the router is an actiontec gt701-wg. I have an 80gb HDD, with a 60gb windows xp partition, and a 20gb windows me partition. i have used previous versions of ubuntu (ubuntu 6.10, and kiwi 7.08) without experiencing this problem. however with the gutsy live CD i cannot use the internet, every page i attempt to visit it takes several minutes without loading the page, and then says the connection timed out. i was planning to install gutsy over the me partition, but since i cannot use the internet, i am reconsidering.

I think that firefox is ok,
if possible, check your lan.

Have you checked to see if your router has any strict security settings, namely Mac Address Filtering enabled?
