Bug Description
The guisettings collection is currently used to stored the GUI version in use. Reads and writes of the GUI version don't specify a document id meaning that MongoDB will generate an objectid id. This means that it won't be possible to use the guisettings collection for anything else.
This should be fixed ASAP, certainly before 2.0 final.
