Confirmed, gutsy amd64 user with compiz.

If I right-click on the "fullscreen" task and choose maximize, then I almost get full-screen (the gnome panels are on-top).

The workaround is working - I, too use compiz

Same configurations: Gutsy 7.10 f-spot 0.4.0

The workaround works.. but if far from perfect.

Something similar happens with skype 2.0 for linux. If i choose fullscreen then the video will be a little screen in other place of the screen

Also here on a powerpc system. Just for me with slideshow it shows a small box and blurry inside, i couldn't maximize it and after a few moments f-spot crashes.
I also noticed that totem firefox plugin doesn't go to fullscreen but just shows a small box. The normal totem window goes fullscreen but has some problems with the controls jumping around, showing and disappearing.
supposing there's a connection between all these problems, might that be a compiz issue? Before Gutsy compiz didn't have a problem with any fullscreen apps though...

I, too, had this problem but it went away when disabling the "Legacy Fullscreen Support" in CompizConfig Settings Manager:

# ccsm -> Workarounds -> Legacy Fullscreen Support

(Gutsy on amd64)

You're right - this is also a possible workaround. I just wonder what other things won't work disabling this legacy option.

Since it works without "Legacy fullscreen support", I think it's not an F-Spot bug.
