Multiple incomplete drafts saved even after sending the email

Bug Description

Loki Beta1
Pantheon Mail 0.10.0

Whenever I start writing an email, it is saved as a draft by the autosave functionality. However, when I finish writing the email and send it, the previously saved draft does not get deleted. Instead, it stays in the drafts folder even after sending it out. The recipients receive the email, but this draft is still present in my account.

I believe the drafts are supposed to be present only if the email is left unfinished. But they should be deleted as soon as that email is successfully sent out.

This happens to me as well. I often end up having to go back and manually delete multiple drafts of emails.

I believe this happens because of Gmail's screwy way of using IMAP drafts. Can you confirm it happens on a non gmail account?

No I'm on Gmail. It's my only email account.

Zisu,

This issue is hard to reproduce. I have started using elementaryOS again recently and have not come across this issue yet. But if I do find it, please tell me the best way to report it in order for you to track the cause properly. Thanks!

Regards,
Raashid

I finally observed this issue and Zisu might be right. This only happens for gmail. What is the workaround for this in that case?
