Bug Description

Dear all,

I updated from Ubuntu 15.10 to Ubuntu 16.04.

Since then I have two settings icons. See the attached screenshot.

Is this a bug or intentional to have 2 settings GUIs?

Thankfully,

~Robert

Thank you for your bug report, could you take a screenshot of the dialog opens by each of those icon? Could be that one is from Unity and one from e.g KDE

Dear Sebastien,

Thanks for your comment!

I don't think it is related to Qt/KDE.

Please have a look at the screenshots of the dialog windows.

Warmly,

~Robert

Hum, it looks like the other one is gnome-control-center which is weird it shouldn't show under unity. Do you have the same issue in a guest session? Could you "grep Settings /usr/share/applications/*"?

Dear Sebastien,

Please see the output of grep Settings /usr/share/applications/* in the attached output.txt.

Should I remove gnome-control-center?

If you don’t use GNOME Shell, then yes, you can remove gnome-control-center.

Dear Adolfo,

Thanks!

I removed gnome-control-center. Problem is thus solved.

I wonder how this go onto my system in the first place, though.

Warmly,

~Robert

gnome-control-center should not show in Unity, its .desktop needs to be fixed there
