Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org2

Latin fonts are matched by the msttcorefonts package and the new RedHat Liberation Fonts ( Bug #113889 ), however CJK users are restricted without metric equivalent replacements for the following fonts:

Korean: Batang, Gulim

Japanese: MS Gothic, Kochi Mincho

Chinese Simplified: SimHei, SimSun

Chinese Traditional: Ming LiU

Documents in OpenOffice will not render the same layout on Windows and Ubuntu without these installed.

The same document and system but with msttcorefonts & msttcjk disabled and font cache regenerated. Notice the Chinese fonts are taller causing the document to be longer.

Do you still have this problem with openoffice.org 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2 in Ubuntu 8.04?
