Bug Description
Several days ago after the latest update for nvidia 340, entering my
password began to frequently give an invalid password message. Frequently I needed to enter it two times for sudo commands and frequently it entirely fails for authentification requests. I have had to restart or turn my computer on and off 4 or 5 times before entering my password at the login screen does not give an invalid password message. In order to get into evolution mail I had to
remove and reinstall seahorse. This evening in order to login I purged nvidia and changed the
quiet splash to quiet nosplash in the grub menu. I'm not sure whether that was necessary
but afterwards I was able to login. When I restarted the computer I was not able to login
and had to turn it off and on and restart it before my password worked. Needless to say, this is
extremely frustrating and any help with this bug would be greatly appreciated. I have a dell
inspiron 1420 and am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64-bit.
