Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I am using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.8 on Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon.

When I press the Ctrl+E hotkey, its supposed to take me to the "quicksearch bar", but it does not work.

In Windows XP on this works fine on Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.8.

linux and windows keybinding differ to some extend. This usually isn't a bug, but a decision made upstream. Unless this works with builds available from ftp.mozilla.org for linux I would suggest to lobby for your wishlist request in upstream forums (http://forums.mozillazine.org and if you get lots of positive feedback submit an enhancement bug in mozillas bugtracker at http://bugzilla.mozilla.org. Remember to point to the forum thread where you received positive feedback. Thanks for your contributions.

Oh, thats dumb that a software works different on different operating systems.
Whats the point of being cross-platform if its gonna work different?

I like Firefox, because I can use it on Windows, Linux, Mac, BSD, etc but if works different then it sucks.
I want it to work the same everywhere, so that I can use it effectively and easily.
