Bug Description

I can't see (and connect) to my Panasonic TX-P50 GW30 TV. The TV has Miracast support. It worked with Android and the Panasonic Remote App which let you send images and videos via Miracast to the TV.
I got a Meizu Pro5 with OTA-11.

Here´s the output of aethercast.log:

The aethercast.log has utc timestamp but the syslog has local timestamp. Don't know why. But its the same moment in the log files.

We've landed some important fixes in rc-proposed which will be released with OTA 13 which should improve the general device compatibility. Can you please retest with either current rc-proposed or OTA 13 when it is released?

No changes so far. Still can't see the TV itself in Pro5. Just the MS V2
Adapter is present.
I notice that i can see both with my windows 8.1
tablet (yoga tablet 2). Using an Android Phone (honor 7 with Android 6)
i need different apps to connect. Some apps can see the MS V2 Widi Adapter, some
only find the TV but not the MS Adapter.

There is now another problem since r164. I reported the bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1590944.

The reported bug is fixed now. After disconnecting the phone, the display is in
staged mode now. Because when connecting to the MS Adapter, it doesn't switch to
windowed mode (see attachted images). Its always in staged mode.

Sven

There is still something wrong with aethercast.

Today i gave it a try, just to look if all works fine now.
With r171 i cannot connect to MS Display Adapter V2.

@Sven: About the unity 8 bug: Please report the not working things still on https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1590944 and mark it as not fixed.

For the connection problem with the MS V2 dongle: Can you give me a bit more context? Which image you have flashed on your device? You can easily find out with running

$ system-image-cli -i

and paste the output here.

Does the problem occur always or do followup connection attempts work?

It occurs always (since r167 or r168 i think).
The MS V2 dongle was working well before.

Here's the output of system-image-cli -i

current build number: 171
device name: turbo
channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/meizu-pd.en
last update: 2016-09-01 06:27:53

version ubuntu: 20160901
version device: 20160824-d33b825
version custom: 20160805-985-8-9

I tried to connect without HID devices but its the same result.
I tried also the Microsoft way: turning off TV, disconnect Dongle, reconnect Dongle, restart TV. But it doesn't help.

Connecting with my yoga tablet2 (win 8.1) still works fine.

Today i tried it with fresh r172 rc-proposed update.

Here are the logs:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/23127200/

1. It connects each second time.
2. When connection to MS V2 Dongle doesnt work, it shows "Connected" on Pro5 Display (Verbunden)
   (see screenshot http://woelk.net/sw/screenshot20160903_101133441.png )
3. When successfully connected (each second time) to MS V2 Dongle all works well
   (without BT HID devices).
Disconnecting works fine and switched Display in staged mode.
4. Connecting with BT HID Keyboard enabled (iClever Keyboard) to MS V2 Dongle, all works well
(each second time i connect). Same behavior as described in Nr. 3.
   Display switched to stage mode.
5. Connecting with BD HID Keyboard + Mouse (iClever Keyboard + Hama Mouse) to MS V2 Dongle
   all works well on TV.
But when i disconnect from TV / MS V2 Dongle, the Display on Pro5 keeps in windowed mode
   on Pro5 Display (see screenshot http://woelk.net/sw/screenshot20160903_101728067.png ).
6. I have to disable bluetooth the get back in staged mode on Pro5
   ( see screenshot http://woelk.net/sw/screenshot20160903_105658605.png).

Aethercast and aethercastctl is missing. Seems that its removed by the system update.
