Bug Description
After updating the kernel to 4.4.0-22 the trackpad on my MacBook Air no longer works.
It looks like the usbmouse driver loads first and associates with the touchpad, and this prevents the bcm5974 module from acquiring the hardware.
I was able to resolve the problem by manually unloading the usbmouse module, then reloading bcm5974:
modprobe -r usbmouse
modprobe -r bcm5974
modprobe bcm5974
This is on 16.04 LTS, fully updated.
