Bug Description

The Ubuntu package of OpenOCD does not depend on libftdi and was not built with --enable-usb_blaster_libftdi. This means it does not support some types of Altera USB Blasters. It would be nice if a future package were built to support these adapters.

This is fixed in the 0.10.0 package, which moves to the new style FTDI support.
