Sourceforge linux download is buggy

Please consider removing automatic redirection to Sourceforge from your links, at least for Linux packages.

I am using Firefox, with the preferences set to user managed downloads to my folder selection.

Unknown to the downloader, Sourceforge's download system automatically downloads to a self-created folder, and it's impossible for a user to interrupt the download process because Sourceforge locks both the browser and the OS. The download process also attempts to activate package installation on its own, in my case it repeatedly tried to use gEdit to install. Also, the user has to search for the package to locate the folder.

Yes, it's the first link. https://www.bleachbit.org/news/bleachbit-1110-beta. Repeated the download a few minutes ago to verify, and perhaps it's a clue:

This only happens with Firefox (47.b8) on Linux. Also tested it with Chromium and there it works fine.

Tested the same link to download in Windows 7, versions Ubuntu 14.04 and 15.04 and used the same Firefox version, and the 'Save' prompt worked.

To be clear, The problem with the Sourceforge link is only with Firefox 32bit version. I tested the identical browser in 64bit and Chrome (64bit) on the laptop and the Sourceforge download link works fine. I hope this helps.

BleachBit version 1.11.2 should be served from download.bleachbit.org instead of sourceforge.net

I agree, but at the time of download last May, I didn't know about bleachbit.org. Prior to that, your download sites were in a state of constant flux. It was never clear to me where to download from a particular version.

My hope is that most people go through the web site (now www.bleachbit.org), which is the typical entry point for people coming from a search engine or from the built-in update notification.

SourceForge has limited options for notices, so on SourceForge.net I posted a README in the downloads area that has links back to the web site.

If there are other ways to clarify, let me know.
