Bug Description
With Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on several of my machines the process "appstreamcli" gets stuck when updating package information, blocking dpkg!
This should not happen.
At the moment, this blocks any upgrade on the machine if you don't know how to kill that process.
I ran "appstreamcli --debug --force refresh" to find that it is the meta-data from the backports repository that causes the problem.
Workaround: Deactivate backports repository
