Bug Description

Ubuntu Xenial installer crashes when grub-installer failed. Writing grub to sda (and after that every sdX) failed, and when proceeding without installing the grub, installer crashes.

You are attempting to install in bios mode to a disk that is partitioned using GPT. You either need to create a 1 mb bios_grub partition, install in EFI mode instead ( and create an EFI system partition ), or reformat the disk and use MBR instead of GPT.
