Bug Description

Hello,

I did install unity8 on a fresh installation of Ubuntu 16.04 64bit on my Dell Inspiron 15R laptop, with Intel® Ivybridge Mobile Graphics Card ( 3rd generation, rev 09 ).

Tried to choose it while logging in, but got stuck with the message saying "Long swipe from the left edge to open the Today scope" which overlays the whole screen !.
I feel like things are working behind it, like when I click Alt+Tab, and so on, but this message doesn't want to go away anyhow !

Tried to swipe from the left, and something come with the mouse till about half of the screen, which seems to be the "Today scope" mentioned in the message, but still can't make the screen covering message go away !

Attached a screenshot.

Thanks.

This is a duplicate of bug 1564351. But Unity8's bug tracking doesn't follow the normal Ubuntu desktop releases. So although that is marked Fix Released for Ubuntu, it is not yet fixed in any Ubuntu desktop. But it will come soon.

Also note that Unity8 on 16.04 desktop probably won't get fixes/updates.

As it is under development all fixes like this one will target 16.10 primarily.

Just follow bug 1564351. I'll try to remember to add a comment to that when the fix makes it in to Ubuntu 16.10. Just don't expect any such Untiy8 fixes for Ubuntu 16.04.
