Bug Description
Im using ubuntu MATE on 16.04
I close the laptop lid to put the laptop into standby.
When I open it again, the wireless icon is still available on the top right of the screen via network manager however all the wifi networks disappear from the list, though the wifi does still work. I just cant change networks without restarting the laptop.
Thanks for your time and overall a great system.

My problem is very similar and I think it has something to do with systemd and power saving.
I have HP Probook 430 G2 (with Intel Wireless 3160) and I have installed Ubuntu Mate 16.04 amd64. Previously, I had 15.10 and everything worked flawlessly.
However, in 16.04, sometimes (after startup or resuming), wireless detects no networks while the device is marked as an ethernet one and after I restart network-manager I am able to connect again.
Please, take care of this issue.
