I've been experiencing the same issue with Ubuntu 17.10.

It only seems to occur shortly after I log in after a reboot. I usually open several programs in quick succession (terminal, browser with several tabs, editor) and often after about half a minute I am logged out. When logging in again all programs appear to have been closed.
