Bug Description

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS AMD64 does not detects Creative SB1550 PCI-E sound card.
This card is not old, I've bought it recently.

bridge with an additional TOSLINK output."

I've installed all ^alsa-* packages like utils, firmware, etc.
I've found the "SB1550" string in a /lib/modules/4.4.0-22-generic/kernel/sound/pci/emu10k1/snd-emu10k1.ko module...

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1579550/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Hello Joseph,
I've installed the latest kernel (4.6.0-040600rc7-generic).
The situation was same I've got a same kernel message: "Audigy2 value: Special config."

I've able to get stereo output from the card by enabling a mysterious "Audigy A" switch in the alamixer.
The tone control works too.

I think it is not a final solution...

I got the same soundcard and suffering the same problem.
I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 and a 7.1 soundsystem.

Enabling "Audigy A" in alsamixer enabled the analog output somehow but i am getting no output on the side speakers. I have already tried enabling every option in alsamixer.

Any suggestions on this?

Sorry, i made a mistake in my last comment. The side speakers are outputting the front channel too! Thats why im not hearing the test tracks for the side speakers at all.
So the soundcard is outputting the front stream on the side channel as well.
