Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The relevant dpkg terminal log says:

/usr/sbin/mkinitramfs: 156: /usr/sbin/mkinitramfs: Cannot fork
/usr/sbin/update-initramfs: 180: /usr/sbin/update-initramfs: Cannot fork

So the shell failed to fork subprocesses. This might be a bug in the shell or caused by a lack of free memory. According to Dmesg.txt this system has 2 GiB memory. So retry "sudo update-initramfs -u" after reboot.

I am closing this bug. Please reopen in case you can reproduce the failure. Feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.
