Bug Description

Binary package hint: gajim

In the previous version of gajim (Feisty) I could click anywhere on gajim and start typing. In the Gutsy version if you click on the conversation pane (scrolling window with messages) you cannot type -- it just beeps. You either have to click on the input box or hit "tab" to actually type the message.

The old behavior was much better.

Also, when using Ctrl-backspace to delete words Gajim beeps on each keystroke. Very annoying.

Thanks

This could be related to Bug #301174 - there are annoying beeps in most GTK apps.

This seems fixed now, and is about very old versions of Ubuntu and gajim. Will now be closed.
